The inaugural event for this year’s Provincetown Day of the Dead Festival is hosted by The Mosquito Story Slam. The theme is Death. Storytellers should prepare a 5-minute, true story on the theme of death for a live audience, sans notes. This special story slam is in honor of Jake Katchador Vartabedian, father of Mosquito founder Vanessa, and is dedicated to all those Provincetown has lost to AIDS. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the AIDS Support Group Cape Cod.
All are invited to bring photos and personal mementos of deceased loved ones to place on the stage during the performances as we create a community ofrenda in honor of our loved ones.
